My Students

Picture this...It's the start of a brand-new school day and I welcome each student by their first name and a friendly wave as they enter our classroom. I exclaim, "Good morning class of 2030. It's a great day to be a Roadrunner!"

Our classroom is a safe place for my students to explore, learn, play, and grow.

They are taught that they can grow up and become anything they desire and that education is their key to a better life. As a teacher, I focus on career readiness and discuss their goals of graduating from high school and attending college or trade schools in the near future. My students are passionate about their learning goals and need some TLC emotionally and financially to succeed in school and ultimately in life.

My Project

Students thrive in a classroom that is creative, engaging, and organized. My students need privacy folders and other classroom organizational materials to help them minimize distractions and focus during independent and whole class learning tasks.

My students will use privacy folders daily while taking tests, writing, or when they feel they need their own space to do their best work.

My grant also includes classroom organizational and instructional materials such as: magnetic display shelves, a turn in work organizer, a giant magnetic graph and array chart, a craft tape center, and soccer balls and bag. These classroom materials will help my students across the curriculum and from year to year. For example, I plan to use the soccer balls during gym class and also during science class to explore the phenomenon of force and motion. Students gain independent work skills by utilizing the turn in work organizer and being in charge of organizing and turning in their own classroom assignments.

My goal for my classroom is to create a stimulating and safe space for my students to become curious, resilient, and creative life-long learners. By contributing to my grant, you will help them to achieve success in 4th grade and beyond.
