History Teachers Always Bring Up the Past!

Help me give my students access to books that can spark their curiosity and love for reading at a young age. They need access to books that can help open their eyes to history!

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I am eager to have age-appropriate books available to my 5th-grade students as another means to help them be their very best readers and learners. My students are at the age where they are still understanding what it means to read an interesting book that makes them yearn for more great stories or knowledge of the real world. I hope to be able to have different kinds of books for them to dive into based on their own interests. As I am beginning my teaching career, my classroom library is an attainable dream and I can't wait to make it a reality for my students for years to come.

I plan to use the books in this project to give students the opportunity to learn about historical events and historical figures to open their eyes to the history that is so important to remember today.

To understand how much they can impact our world, I believe it is crucial for them to read about and understand who and what events have impacted our way of life in the present. With any donation my students are more likely to improve their reading skills with any of the nonfiction books I have in this project. I look forward to seeing my students learn so much from these books!
