History & Science Texts & Tools to Understand Our World
Help me give my students resources and tools to develop their skills of research, written expression, hands-on experimentation, and problem-solving in science, and social studies with a microscope STEM kit.
Due to school district budget shortages, we need to fundraise to have resources available in our classrooms. This academic year students will be learning about Civics and the power and responsibilities of government in the Fall, and in the Spring they will be studying the branches of Technology. These two project topics are essential to our daily lived experiences as well as the future that they are working towards as the next generation of social leaders. To engage in this work, students need access to interactive texts, literacy tools, and hands-on tasks that will challenge them to use the skills and knowledge required to run a government in the classroom as well as at the local, state, and federal levels. These tools are microscope kit, books, writing supplies, and organizational tools for an accessible and welcoming classroom. In science, they will not only learn about the technology industries, but they also will do hands-on experimentation to understand the processes of design and engineering following the scientific method. We plan to purchase text sets, topic-specific posters and anchor charts, and materials for students to use in class to design their projects.
