My Students
My classroom is full of enthusiastic fifth graders that really enjoy learning. They prefer to learn in fun, unique and engaging ways. They are also very interested in technology and creating projects.
The students in our school are very diverse.
They represent multiple cultures, multiple races, multiple languages, multiple socioeconomic levels and a wide variety of "families". Some students live with both parents, some students live with one parent, and some students are foster children that are living temporarily in foster homes. The learners also vary greatly; a large number of the students receive resource support. There is a large group of gifted identified students.
My Project
Students will view, participate, and experience in daily Colonial life by setting up and printing from a printing press with a little bit of help from Benjamin Franklin himself! The students will learn the origin of the printing press, the history of books and how newspapers are printed today.
The students will also learn more about Benjamin Franklin such as a few of his discoveries, inventions and the role he played in creating the Constitution and the birth of our Nation.
Students are also introduced to the world of electricity and science. Students will be mesmerized by the wonders of science and creative inventions.
