My Students
I am lucky to be able to work with four dozen 11-year-olds who love to inquire about, debate and analyze important issues with each other in our Sixth Grade classroom.
I can see my students working hard to become the future scientists, explorers, and thinkers of this world.
I hope to be able to teach them all of the skills they need using the best resources I can find.
These students are great readers, researchers, and debaters who deserve the most up to date information on real-world issues so that they can learn from history and improve their nonfiction reading comprehension!
My Project
Great nonfiction articles that are written for students are hard to find and can quickly go out of date. TIME Edge provides the innovation and choice that I feel my students deserve. They would get access to 90 years of primary sources and interesting, up to date nonfiction articles about current events written specifically for young historians like them. In an English Language Arts, Reading, and World Cultures classroom, this resource is GOLD!
"With Time Edge, teachers get access to weekly nonfiction text that improves reading, writing, and critical-thinking skills in the classroom.
Our articles give real world context to the concepts students are learning across the curriculum." timeedge.com
Time Edge has Lexile-leveled nonfiction text as well as videos, polls, and timelines with new content uploaded weekly. My students will have access to a large selection of nonfiction texts to choose from, which is the best way to get them interested in reading! With TIME Edge, the students in my classroom will be able to greatly improve their reading comprehension skills!
