Help me give my students an entertaining way to learn history! We are looking for a classroom set of board games that will enrich student historical knowledge and engage them in strategic thinking.

My Project

Imagine students eagerly diving into the past, not through dusty textbooks, but by navigating ancient trade routes, battling plagues, building civilizations, and answering trivia that spans the ages. With your help, we can make history come alive for middle schoolers through engaging, strategic board games that spark curiosity, collaboration, and deep learning.

Our classroom is full of bright, energetic learners who thrive on interaction and hands-on experiences.

However, history can sometimes feel distant and abstract. To bridge that gap, I want to provide a collection of historically inspired board games that promote critical thinking, historical context, and team-building skills.

Games Requested:

Pandemic and Pandemic: Fall of Rome – Students explore the global impact of disease and the fall of empires through cooperative gameplay.

7 Wonders and 7 Wonders: Architect – These games allow students to build ancient civilizations and understand resource management and cultural development.

Catan: Dawn of Humanity – A prehistoric spin on a classic, teaching early human migration and survival strategies.

Trekking Through History – Students "travel" through time and learn about significant historical figures and events in an interactive format.

Scythe – This alternate-history game introduces complex geopolitics, economics, and strategy in a post–World War I world.

Azul – While more abstract, Azul is rooted in historical tile artistry from Portugal and reinforces pattern recognition and cultural appreciation.

Marvel Splendor – Combines modern mythology with resource management and strategic thinking.

History Channel Trivia Game – Brings straightforward, engaging fact-based competition to the classroom.

Senet – A classic game from ancient Egypt, offering a hands-on connection to early human gaming and culture.
