History Alive

My 26 students need a class set of "A Wicked History of Julius Caesar" for our study of Ancient Rome.

My Students

History is a story that must be brought to life. In order to do that, students need the chance to study history through various lenses. "A Wicked History: Julius Caesar" will allow them to do just that in our study of Ancient Rome.

My students are fantastic; they are eager to learn, have big personalities, and never back down from challenges.

They are all also second language learners in either English or Spanish, as our school is bilingual. There is never a time that I am not amazed at the level in which they are able to work in both languages. In addition to being unique individuals, from diverse backgrounds and experiences, there is also immense unity. There is a culture of encouragement and collaboration. Their capabilities are infinite.

My Project

With this class set of books, each student will be able to closely read and study the text of Julius Caesar's life as a Roman dictator. They will be able to analyze his character and determine his strengths, weaknesses and lasting impact he made on Rome. This will help the class further investigate what contributed to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.

My current students, as well as many students to come, will have the chance to have history brought to life.

Text books can be limiting; these books will enrich our unit of study and broaden understanding of the life of Julius Caesar.
