Historical Thinkers Need Historical Texts

Help me give my students texts from a wide variety of sources and topics that will supplement their learning in our U.S. and IB History classes.

My Project

In U.S. History, we teach our students historical thinking skills, ways to examine events, people, and primary sources like text documents, photographs, newspaper articles, and more. Our students learn how to look at sources and think about the origins, the purpose, the content, and the values and limitations of those elements.

In order to embed literacy in our history classes, we need more texts to read.

These books will reach students at many different levels, from 9th and 10th grade U.S. History students, to advanced senior IB History students. Topics in these books range from general overview of U.S. History, to in depth readings on The Cold War, Korean War, and Vietnam War, to LGBTQ+ History, to historical documents.
