My Students

My awesome eighth grade U.S. History students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! We are a diverse Title I school with lots of different groups of students. They come to school each day ready to try new things and reach their highest potential. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Each child in my classroom loves learning.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. I try to make history come alive for them as they study from the framing of the Constitution to the Industrial Revolution. My students love to be creative, and we are working on lots of "out-of-the box" projects.

My Project

My students need a color and black and white printer to make their projects come alive, including political cartoons and colored comic strips. We also need ink to make sure that all of our 240 students can print if they don't have color printers at home.

Seeing their projects in color makes my students proud as they display their work in class and around the school!

We are a learn by doing school which means that students publish and present their work to our school and community. By looking polished and professional, they can be more easily evaluated in a real-world setting.
