Historical Fiction is Exciting!

My students need interesting historical fiction at a variety of levels. Specifically, six copies each of 6 novels including "Little House in the Big Woods" and "The Three Musketeers".

My Students

Historical fiction is a very important genre for students!

My students live in a very high poverty area of Washington State.

They are highly diverse both ethnically and racially. They are great kids who want to learn – and are capable of learning! They just need high quality, interesting materials from which to learn.

My Project

I chose interesting, award-winning books that are historical in nature. The Three Musketeers, Mark Twain, Anne of Green Gables, and other great books that really immerse the reader in the historical time period. Each book will be kept in a set of 6, so students can read with a small group and discuss.

My students need books that are really interesting, enjoyable and historical.

These great books will help my students understand the genre of historical fiction, as well as fan the flames of a love of learning.
