Historical Fiction for All!

Help me give my students small group sets of Holocaust time period novels to study historical fiction.

My Students

This year, I will be teaching twenty-three fourth graders, some of whom are meeting for the first time. Our school is taking part in a unique school pairing model, and on our campus,​ we will only have grades 3-5. Some of the students will be new to me as well, and others who are former students of mine.

Regardless of if they are new to one another or not, I look forward to the classroom community that will be built and the learning that will take place.

My Project

My students and I are preparing to embark on a unit about a fascinating era. Nazi Germany. We are going to be using Number the Stars to guide our whole group discussions and lessons, and I want to be able to continue the time period in my small groups and offer a few other titles that will give a bigger picture of that time period.

This is always an exciting unit for myself and students, and it is so important for them to learn about.

These books will make reading engaging, exciting, and relevant. We will be able to have many great discussions and use pencils and highlighters to help us with note-taking.
