Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have mostly Hispanic students in my building and I am working to make the library more representative of their heritage. I would like to have book tubs for them to easily find these materials and be able to see themselves in the literature they read and share with their families.

My students are learning to speak English and I want to help bridge the gap between learning to speak English and learning to read English.

Books in both Spanish and English, along with books they can see their heritage represented will help them become bilingual as well as biliterate.
