This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school computer science classroom is filled with students who are eager to explore and understand the technology that powers our modern world. Every day, they engage with learning experiences in computer programming, cybersecurity, and business applications, gaining essential skills for the future. I teach a variety of coding languages, including Java, Python, and Scratch, so students can build strong foundations and create real-world projects.

Beyond learning to code, my students discuss topics such as cybersecurity awareness, digital citizenship, and ethical computing behaviors, helping them become responsible users and creators of technology.

We also explore how programming and technology impact business and society, preparing students for multiple career pathways.

To make these lessons as engaging and hands-on as possible, access to appropriate supplies and equipment—such as chargers, tape for robot activities, and supplemental learning materials—is vital. These resources support collaborative projects, creative problem-solving, and interactive coding challenges in our classroom environment, helping students turn curiosity into practical skills they will use throughout their education and beyond.
