Hiking Gear for Students So They Can Explore the Outdoors!

My Students

My students come from all walks of life. Some have parents who provide all they will ever need, but many do not know where their next meal will come from. They are enthusiastic, hard-working, and deserve the best. They make me a better teacher because they will never learn as much from me as I learn from them.

Like many other teachers, I feel my students deserve the best resources.

In addition to my classroom duties, I sponsor a club called "The Outdoors Club." The club's main purpose is to promote camaraderie through nature and the outdoors. We take these awesome kids on hikes, kayak trips, and even National Parks. However, we are working with a limited budget and need financial support to purchase hiking apparel and outdoor gear.

My Project

My students come from all walks of life. Some live in group homes, and some, unfortunately, are homeless. I co-sponsor a club on campus whose sole purpose is to include all students and to build camaraderie through the outdoors and nature. I have students who show up in worn out Vans and other footwear, and struggle to go on some of our nature hikes. I want to give these awesome kids the safe and appropriate gear (hiking shoes and socks), so they can participate in these outings. I also have kids who do not have containers for water, so I want to get them containers. Finally, I hope to get a well-equipped First Aid kit just in case of any minor accident.
