Highly Interactive Teacher Finally Gets a Bigger Classroom!
Help me give my students a classroom that helps them actively learn and their teacher (that’s me!) a work space that contributes to longevity in the classroom.
It’s my belief that education is the one thing that no one can ever take away from you, so I try to instill a pride for knowledge in my classroom- will you help me with my first campaign?
I’m a Language Arts teacher in a diverse, lower income school. I have an interactive classroom when I teach most of the time, so I request a mobile standing desk and a stool that I could use anywhere around the classroom, and sometimes in the hallway. Not only will it make me more accessible to my class, but it’ll help me also as sitting and standing for long periods of time are physically more difficult due to some injuries to my back and feet.
Chromebook chargers necessary because we are only given 15 chargers, but have 25 Chromebooks per cart. Even that isn’t enough for all classes- some classes can have over 30 students, making sharing devices is incredibly challenging. Headphones are also especially important in my classroom because I also work with the English Language Learning population. Accessibility is fundamental to the learning success in my classroom.
The seemingly smaller items on my list (the magnets and the batteries and buzzers) are also quite helpful in my classroom for games and test prep, as well as non-digital wall work. Learning happens all over our room, from wall to wall!
While I can’t solve everything in my school, I would like my sixth graders to access a fun learning environment that equips them to use their minds and their bodies to learn in as many ways as possible. Thank you!
