This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us save paper! We are transforming our classroom into a paperless one. We will use digital cameras to track student progress/create digital portfolios for students to share with their parents. This will also save on paper. We also have digital photo projects to complete this year.
My students are wonderful, creative students who just need more resources to assist with their creativity.
They come from a Title 1 school and our technology resources are limited. I want my students to experience more hands on learning using digital cameras.
My Project
Using digital cameras in the classroom will not only help our classroom to become paperless, but it will equip my 2nd graders with all sorts of technology skills and inspire their creativity. Not only do we plan to create digital portfolios that students will share with their parents every 6 weeks, but we will also go on a digital geometry scavenger hunt around the school, create digital photo stories, and write and illustrate classroom digital stories to share with families and friends. We would also like to use the digital cameras to create monthly classroom newsletters to send home to parents created by the students. Using digital cameras in this manner will allow students to think outside of the box and get in touch with their creative side.
