My Project
The items I’m requesting—games, headphones, a vacuum, and other tools—will profoundly impact my high school students with moderate to severe disabilities by meeting their unique needs and fostering their growth.
Games will support social and academic learning by encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and communication.
Many of my students face challenges with social interaction, and games provide a safe, fun way to practice these vital skills while building confidence. Headphones are essential for students with sensory sensitivities, helping them manage overwhelming noise and stay focused on their work. This simple tool creates a calm space where they can fully engage in activities like reading or group lessons.
The vacuum is more than a cleaning tool—it’s a teaching tool. It gives students the opportunity to learn practical life skills like operating household appliances, following routines, and taking responsibility. These lessons are critical as my students work toward greater independence and readiness for life beyond school.
My goal for this project is to create a classroom environment that empowers students to succeed. By providing resources tailored to their needs, I can help them build social, academic, and practical skills that will serve them for years to come. These tools make learning more accessible and engaging, ensuring every student feels included and supported.
What makes my students special is their resilience and individuality. They face significant challenges but bring determination, unique perspectives, and a spark that lights up our classroom. Every small success is a big victory, and their progress inspires me daily. With the right tools, I know they can continue to grow, build independence, and feel proud of what they accomplish. These items will help me provide them with the environment they deserve to thrive.
