Students will be able to use the equipment for outdoor recess. We have used the varying surfaces on the equipment to conduct experiments, conduct observations of nature, and congregate as a classroom.

The wide variety of children found on a playground, in both ages and backgrounds, means that the child must learn how to adapt if they want to play. When a child plays, they are using their imagination to create their own world. When they start letting others in on that world, then the child learns compromise. It is just one of the many important ways in which playground play is vital to the long-term development of a happy and well-adjusted child.
