Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working at my school I find that I am often teaching my students ways to cope and regulate their emotions and/or any possible triggers. Having a calming corner will allow me to continue teaching and talking to my students about the variety of ways we can regulate our emotions as they will be able to actually apply this in a classroom with a calming corner.
My students deserve a space to take a break and find ways to calm themselves when they are feeling triggered or in need of a break.
The comfortable and flexible seat options like the stool or bean bags and rug change the environment for them, the sound machine can help them find peace and slow down their breathing, and the fidget toys can help them focus.
