Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When spring break ended, we did not return to school. My students were initially excited about the "extended break" until they found out we would not be going back.
Like most other teachers and students, we were not prepared to fully go to online learning; although we had digital platforms and some technology processes already in place, we did not have all the tools to ensure the most effective delivery of instruction digitally.
Students had to get loaner computers from the school, one per family no matter how many students were in the home. Some families needed mobile hotspots from the school to access the internet. As a teacher, I was ready and willing to teach from anywhere, but I did not have the supplies to make the lessons as high quality as they could be.
Considering the uncertainty surrounding what school will look like moving forward, I want to ensure that I have the tools necessary to make the learning experience accommodating for all of my students no matter where we're learning from.
My Project
The mount will allow me to move the lessons and recorded demos anywhere anytime. With it, I will not be limited to doing the lessons from my kitchen table ensuring that I can teach my students somewhere quiet without interruption. I will be able to simply attach my phone and project what the students need to see while my hands are free to write and demonstrate.
The green screen will allow us to do live stream class meetings with interactive and educational backgrounds; It will also allow me to take students anywhere virtually to give them good visuals while I deliver the lessons.
The ring light will be used to ensure that they can see me and whatever texts I'm reading or writing with them.
The books will be used to ensure that I am equipped to effectively deliver lessons from ANYWHERE.
