My Students
Currently, my sixth, seventh and eighth grade students are enjoying their summer break. As a conscientious physical education teacher of inner-city youth, I am trying to prepare for all possible teaching and learning scenarios in the fall. We will initially be starting off the school year with remote learning. Our school has a very diverse student population and has a wide range of academic levels. We offer 15 after school sports for our students to participate in.
I am trying to keep my students safe while getting my students physically active under a new set of norms that we will all be adjusting to.
I strive to empower all my students to grow and be the best that they can be. All of my students are eligible to receive both the school breakfast and lunch daily for free. Most of our school population takes public transportation.
My Project
These two items will help me provide high quality remote instruction to my 6th-8th grade students that I teach health & physical education to. The Air Pods will allow me to move away from my laptop microphone and still clearly communicate with my students as I am leading yoga or exercise workouts at an increased distance from the camera so that they can see proper exercise techniques I am demonstrating. The laptop stand will allow me to raise the properly elevate my laptop camera and adjust the camera angle so that my students can see me clearly. This will allow me to provide my students with high quality instruction while remotely teaching.
