This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Teaching in a low-income/high-poverty school/community, I see how my students are faced with daily challenges. These challenges include poverty, poor health, and parents who may be unable to afford resources such as books, computers, or even family weekend activities that would create positive learning experiences for them.
My students love to read, create, and learn.
I teach a first-grade class formed with 14 girls and 10 boys whose parents may not have the financial resources or time available to provide them with the skills and material needed to prepare them for the careers of the future.
My Project
By March 19, we knew there was a possibility schools might be out until fall. Now, even further into school closure, I’ve learned one thing, we need reliable technology to give our students high-quality instruction. Teaching 21-century learners requires updated, dependable technology. My learners would appreciate a teacher with an Apple MacBook Pro and Air pods.
Across the country, district plans are constantly evolving, and no one knows quite what the rest of the school year will look like.
What is certain is that my students need to receive the best instruction I can possibly provide to them. To increase the likelihood of success I need reliable technology that would allow me to create and deliver quality lessons to my 24 first graders.
