My students need copies of "The Mysterious Benedict Society", "The City of Ember", and "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler" for us to read together!
My students are incredible! My students are in kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. They are curious, inquisitive, hard-working, and dedicated. All of my students have Individualized Educational Plans because they have been diagnosed with a disability. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. All come from high poverty areas and they all love coming to school.
My students are brilliant individuals who learn differently than their peers.
These students will be successful and it's my job to create learning opportunities that ensure this.
My Project
My students LOVE to read and are always asking me to go to the library for them to check out certain titles. I love seeing them excited about the books that we read together in our guided reading group.
I know that they will be thrilled to read "The Mysterious Benedict Society", "The City of Ember", and "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler" together in our small group.
Access to these three titles will emphasize the importance of books and literature in enabling children to become confident, happy and enthusiastic readers and writers. Access to these three titles will also help me create purposeful and effective learning opportunities that explore these high quality texts in depth, enhance reading comprehension and provide meaningful contexts and purposes for writing.
