I teach 3rd grade reading and 4th, 6th, and 8th grade writing in a high-poverty school in Louisiana. My students have all been affected by poverty, natural disaster, and violence and are all performing below where they should be.
We do daily grammar lessons and journaling in a notebook, and I have already gone through all of the notebooks I bought on sale at the beginning of the year! The kids come to school without any school supplies, and I have no budget. I am running out of paper and can't afford to keep buying notebooks for my kids.
I teach about 80 kids, so 100 notebooks will get us through the end of the semester. I will be out of paper by the end of October and can't afford to buy 100 notebooks.
Your support will help all of my students to continue writing in their journals daily. After all, What is a writing class without writing?
