My Project
Hi! I'm Ms. Wade, the luckiest teacher to 12 middle school students in an Autistic Support room. My students range from grade six to eighth grade and are high level thinkers who love to experience the world through reading! Due to their reading level, students are often made to read books that do not engage their experiences as 11 to 14-year-olds. When they read lower level books they are often building confidence in their ability to decode, but not their ability to comprehend world topics. They often ask, "Why do I have to read a baby book?". By donating to this book list, you will help provide texts that they can read AND are appropriate for their age-level.
