My Project

This project aims to provide engaging, accessible science materials for junior high special education students at BPC schools. Many of these students have low reading levels, which creates significant barriers to understanding and participating in science content. By incorporating hands-on activities, visual aids, simplified texts, and interactive digital resources, this project will foster a more inclusive learning environment where all students can actively engage with scientific concepts.

Through these specialized materials, students will gain a deeper understanding of scientific principles while improving their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

The project will focus on adapting complex science topics into manageable, student-friendly formats, ensuring that students with diverse learning needs can successfully access and apply the content.

Providing accessible science resources will increase student engagement and confidence in their academic abilities. Students will participate more actively in class discussions and hands-on experiments, fostering a sense of curiosity and achievement. This project also supports differentiated instruction, allowing for a more personalized learning experience that meets each student's unique needs.

By reducing the reading-level barrier, this project will enhance comprehension of key scientific concepts, better-preparing students for future academic and life experiences. Ultimately, these resources will empower junior high special education students at BPC schools to succeed in science and beyond, promoting a lifelong interest in learning and discovery.
