This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my class receive small group instruction to increase their reading ability in a short period of time. They have been struggling readers and have had setbacks during online learning. My biggest challenge is finding books they are interested in but are at their level. I have selected a group of books I know they will enjoy yet will be able to read independently. Some of the books are classics and nonfiction, yet are adjusted for struggling readers.

When students have a choice about what they read and have engaging literature at their level, their reading skills will take off.
