Help me give my students high interest novels and graphic novels. These titles are incredibly popular in the school library! They are so popular that the library's copies of all Dog Man and Captain Underpants have fallen apart!
Avid readers, reluctant readers and students who view themselves as nonreaders have requested these novels and graphic novel series when browsing for books in the school library. As a school librarian, it is my role to provide reading materials that students are interested in and directly request.
Student choice is the key to turning students into readers.
Filling these collection requests voiced by many students in multiple grades at my school will show students that their voices and interests are valued, as well as encourage abundant reading and book discussion between readers.
