My Project
We are requesting 55 copies of Hidden Figures for our next Book Club novel! In our classroom, book clubs allow students to engage in meaningful conversations about novels, develop critical thinking skills, and practice active listening.
We want our 5th graders to read "Hidden Figures" because it presents an extraordinary true story of perseverance and achievement that can inspire and empower young minds.
The book showcases the accomplishments of three African American women who overcame challenges to make vital contributions to NASA's space program.
By reading "Hidden Figures," students can learn about the importance of determination, intelligence, and diversity in the workplace. This narrative can help them understand the value of inclusivity and encourage them to pursue their passions, regardless of any obstacles they may face. Additionally, the book can inspire students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, to explore STEM careers and believe in their potential for greatness.
