My Students

Can you imagine getting $50.00 in supply money to get everything you need for the entire school year?

My students are five and six year olds coming to school for the very first time.

They come into the classroom so excited or a little scared to begin their school career. They have to learn how to use things like using a pencil, tape, and a stapler. Our school is located in central Florida. We are a Title 1 school which means we have a high population of families that qualify for the Free/Reduced Federal Food Program. Our school has dedicated teachers and support staff that really try to do what is best for our children.

My Project

My students keep records on their reading levels and their learning goal accomplishments during the school year. They need file folders, tape, staples, post it notes, and writing utensils. My students also need construction paper for projects in class. Unfortunately, I was unable to order what they needed with my $50.00 supply budget. Our school budget needed to go for technology updates and this cut the every day necessities for the classroom.

The office type items ordered will get us through the school year for all of the record keeping in our resource binders, guided reading centers, and make items like self made books.

The students will be able to highlight their learning goals, keep track of skills they have mastered, and make practice projects that will let them keep newly learned skills fresh. With our reduced supply budget, we are desperately in need of these items.
