My Students

How would you like to be the child coming to school for the first day and you do not have any supplies, not even a back pack! Some of our families have very limited resources. Children, who come to school without supplies, are very embarrassed that they do not have supplies like the other children.

My students are five and six year olds coming to school for the very first time.

They come into the classroom so excited or a little scared to begin their school career. Our school is located in central Florida. We are a Title 1 school which means we have a high population of families that qualify for the Free/Reduced Federal Food Program. Our school has dedicated teachers and support staff that really try to do what is best for our children.

My Project

This project will give the children pencils, colored pencils, glue, markers, and crayons that they need to complete their work in class. The students will be able to learn their colors, alphabet letters, numbers, and shapes with the crayons and pencils. They will be able do simple projects and complete their work with pride.

My students will not feel that they are going without supplies for the school year.

They will have supplies they need to be successful in kindergarten. As a teacher, I constantly worry about having the supplies because there is no room in my $100.00 school year budget.
