My Project

Mahalo for taking time out of your time to view our educational requests for HHIS' Alternative Learning Program. Since we do not follow a conventional education system, we expose students to an array of projects and place-based experiences. For example, many of my students are avid fishermen and divers and they want to showcase and preserve the fish they catch. This is why we are requesting funds for gyotaku paper so students can learn the art of fish printing. Another example includes growing our own food on campus to learn the art of both gardening and cooking the produce we gather. Additionally, we are requesting funds for snacks because many of my students do not come to school with food and we spend many hours in the field sometimes missing both school breakfast and lunch. Therefore, we need snacks to fuel our students on our missions.
