it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The graphic novel "Hey Kiddo" can make a significant difference in my students' learning by providing a relatable and engaging story that deals with complex themes in an accessible format. Graphic novels can help reluctant readers build confidence and encourage visual literacy.
Graphic novels help students to see real-life experiences and emotions portrayed through both text and illustrations.
This can foster empathy, critical thinking, and self-reflection. My students are special in their intelligence, kindness, and strong work ethic - qualities that will serve them well in engaging with more challenging literature and themes.
By using "Hey Kiddo," I'm creating an opportunity for these smart, hardworking students to dive deep into a story that can spark meaningful discussions and personal growth, ultimately building their confidence as readers and learners.
