This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders come to school so excited to learn and grow each and every day. For these students, their birthday is a big deal and a reason to celebrate all the qualities that make them unique. These items will be placed in a goody bag to help each child feel extra special on their birthday.

For many students their birthday is one of the most exciting days, and a day they get to be the super star in our class.

I want to ensure that every student gets a pencil and pen to encourage their love of writing, a book buddy to read to every night at home, and a fun toy to remind them they are special. This small gesture will build our classroom community and make everyone feel like they have a place they belong.
