This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First Grade is such a crucial time for children when it comes to their foundational skills in ALL academic areas!

This year my school is focusing very closely on literacy, and I am very confident that my scholars will be able to show growth and fall in love with learning as they practice and develop their decoding in phonics as well as their structure in writing!

Coming from hard working families, I know that my student's families don't always have the time or expendable income to support the needs of our classroom, but having the right resources and tools during literacy small groups and stations are crucial to student engagement and development!

Many of these tools can even be given to my little scholars to use and practice at their homes!

My goal as an educator is to provide my scholars with the best resources and tools to promote engagement, success, and a love of learning!

My Project

After the lessons are taught, students need time to practice the skills they have learned! My scholars practice these skills in small groups and through station activities.

My scholars will be able to practice reading and writing their sight words, letters, digraphs, and complete sentences!

I will also be able to create long lasting station activities by laminating resources and putting them in sheet protectors!

In order to have successful literacy stations and small groups, my scholars need specific materials and resources! These materials and resources are crucial to my scholar's development and practice of key foundational skills in First Grade.
