My Students

Every day I get to educate and nurture some of the most determined, passionate, energetic, enthusiastic, and intelligent students. Working in a Title I school pushes you to see the successes and difficulties in education.

My students have worked hard to overcome many struggles and show the world the good, they are a resilient bunch of fourth-graders who come every day ready to learn.

They learn from their peers, school community, and neighborhood. Their family, internet, social media, and school environment have a direct impact on what they learn and how they develop into strong leaders and readers. Sometimes these factors can be very beneficial or a hindrance to their young and developing minds and attitudes.

My students come into my classroom knowing they are safe, they are loved, and this is a place to learn- both within academics and life.

They know their teacher cares for them, supports their dreams and goals, and pushes them to reach the top. They may not always go home to safe neighborhoods but they are always welcomed into a safe classroom.

My Project

"Hey Alexa- can you tell me what main idea is?" This project is geared towards all the essentials my students and classroom will need to start off the school year!

Help me give my students essential supplies to help ensure we have the best start possible to a new school year, with a new focus, positive attitude and ready to read!

This project will help fill our classroom with tools we can use during small group and whole group. Essential materials during our cooperative learning centers and we will be welcome Alexa to the classroom.

This year we will use Alexa to help answer reading and social studies questions and we will be adding in fun Friday questions to ask Alexa. As well, we will be using a wireless doorbell to help with our small group transitions and lots of daily supplies like dry erasers, pens for writing, sticky notes for note taking, anchor charts for graphic organizers and lots of paper to help print and show off our fantastic work.
