Here's To A Sock-cessful School Year

My students need "chair socks" for every chair in our classroom and our school's computer lab to help eliminate noise and distraction during teaching and learning.

My Students

My 2nd Graders are willing and eager to learn each and every day. They deserve the ultimate best in regards to their education. My students deserve to be a part of a classroom that is cutting edge in regards to technology, tools, equipment, and basic supplies. These young children also deserve to be a part of a school building that is efficient and promotes overall success. Today's education world is ever-changing and we need to stay up to date in all aspects. Our elementary school accommodates 70% of students who come from low-income households. A large portion of our yearly classroom supplies and tools are solely teacher-funded. Due to this, many classrooms are lacking necessary materials, equipment, furniture, and technology that will best meet the needs of today's students.

My Project

Chair "socks" are essentially tennis balls that wrap around the legs of each chair. These chair socks eliminate distractions and noise for students throughout the school day. Students with attention issues can also benefit from the use of these chair socks. The chair socks also protect our newly waxed floors by keeping them clean and scratch-free.

In our 2nd Grade classroom, students are always in and out of their seats because we like to utilize all areas of our classroom, not just our desks.

Since my students are mobile, the chairs make loud noises that are often distracting to young learners who are concentrating on their reading or other work. These distractions are also evident in our school's computer lab. I would use the other set of chair socks for our computer lab so every single student in our building could benefit from them as well!
