This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Cinema is a mirror by which we often see ourselves." This quote from the filmmaker, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, shows how we have gone from the written word to the projected picture to interpret our world and the people around us. Students need to be introduced to a number of film genres and world-class filmmakers to gain a better insight into the society in which they live and to emulate these filmmakers in redefining the world and people's perspectives. Our school is a film magnet school and we get students from a diverse population. It is my job to teach them the language of filmmaking. I can share my film library, not only with my students but with my colleagues as we grow our department and make it worthy of being in the shadow of the Hollywood Hills.
