My Students
I am a first & second grade teacher in New Jersey’s second largest urban school district. I "loop" with the same group of children and teach them for two years. My classroom is a culturally diverse community of learners. My students are like sponges for knowledge. Despite any extraordinary circumstances they have faced or are facing, they attend school regularly and are passionate about learning. Due to the recent pandemic, we are unsure of what "back to school" will look like and I want to ensure that I will be able to deliver quality remote instruction and also be able to record my live streaming lessons so students can watch the lessons as needed.
My Project
The Go Pro and camera stand will be used to record and live-stream instructional content for my students. The quality of the video will be much clearer than a traditional web cam. I will also be able to take learning outdoors and on the go with the ability to record videos anywhere.
We are uncertain how our classes will be held this year and while we hope to get back into the classroom, I want to be prepared to teach remotely if the need arises!
With a traditional laptop, you must stay right in front of the internal camera which does not give you much space to demonstrate or model lessons. With a portable camera such as the one requested, I would be able to utilize chart paper, my dry erase easel board, manipulatives and truly engage and interact with my students.
