My Students

My students are caring, young scientists that are eager to learn. We are a K-5 science and technology school in an urban neighborhood. Our goal is to foster a love of learning and provide high quality, hands-on educational experiences.

We are computer science enthusiasts!

We all love to explore through hands-on activities while working to understand the world around us.

This year we are excited to host an after school Kinder Coding program! During this program we would love to introduce our youngest students to the exciting world of robots!

My Project

How should our youngest students learn about computer science? Through hands-on exploration! These requested LEGO Code Express kits will provide our Kindergarteners with the tools needed for age appropriate exploration. We cannot wait to see our computer science program grow!

This donation will allow our youngest coding students to bring computer science to life.

While our students develop their creativity, they will also become creative problem solvers while working as part of a team. "Taking the familiarity of a train and combining it with the new action bricks, early learners will learn through play about sequencing, looping, conditional coding, and cause and effect by placing the new action bricks within the train’s track. Each action brick creates a specific action allowing for students to test and redesign ways to problem-solve and work together to get their train to its destination."

We would love our Kindergarteners to be introduced to computer science through the use of these LEGO Education kits. Through the use of these kits, they will see their trains come to life. We will use LEGOs to teach our young coders step-by-step instructions. We will also reinforce skills they have learned throughout the year including counting, directions, and persistence. While using these kits, our students will be able to design and create trains that drive!

Help us expand our computer science program to our youngest learners through the use of LEGO Education Coding Express Kits!
