My Students
I am a teacher at a Title I school located in a rural area of my town. The majority of the students that attend my school are socioeconomically challenged. Many of the students live in nontraditional family. Due the pandemic, money is limited. Students do not have access to materials needed to do classwork with ease or of interest to them. With your assistance, I hope to help my students to succeed in learning with materials that will be obtained through you, a supporter of education.
My Project
Incorporating STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) in my classroom will empower my students with skills to adapt to the changing technological world. Using Playdoh, connecting cubes, tape, toothpicks, index cards, and other materials, will give my students an opportunity to practice and learn STEM concepts through structured play. Having these STEM activities for morning work, centers, and indoor recess, my students will expand their critical thinking process. The cart will serve as a storage unit for storing pencil boxes and materials the students will use during morning work, centers, early finishers, and free time.
