My Students
Everyday I experience joy teaching ten uniquely wonderful students with Learning Disabilities and/or autism. This year my students have adopted a classroom mascot. We are the PeliCans. We chose this name because I want my students to know if they can dream it, they can achieve it!!! I am so proud of their courage and tenacity. My students are truly a special group of kiddos, they come to school happy and ready to learn everyday, with no complaints!!! Let’s do it for the PeliCans.
My Project
My little scholars are working very hard this year. They are excited about learning to read and I want to keep the momentum going. Providing a variety of interesting books in the classroom will help them to begin a wonderful journey through the pages of a book. Learning to read is a multi-layered process. Providing structured guided reading and mini reading lessons are both very fundamental in the process of learning to read. However, giving children plenty of opportunities to sit with a good book and practice targeted instruction is invaluable. Give a child a book and open a world of imagination and wonder. Thanking you in advance for your help.
