Helping Us Put the Pieces Together for Physics and Biology.
My students need 3 iPads to use educational apps and share work, along with real-life activities, and general phsx supplies.
They deserve the resources, I promise!!!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students, all 145 juniors, have a long way to go before the end of this year. I'll strive to provide engagement, enthusiasm, and rigor every day until the last before their summer break. My biggest challenge is a lack of resources, which I've worked to supplement myself, but I need help!
My students are varied and diverse.
Our school is one of the most 'neighborhood' of neighborhood schools, primarily serving neighborhood children. I am blessed to have Juniors, both at a high academic level, and in the general setting. The ability, performance, and attitudes of my students vary widely, but they constantly impress me with what they're capable of when shown respect and given the support they need.
Many of my students struggle to believe in themselves, and struggle to believe they are truly become prepared for college, something many of them may be the first to pursue in their families.
My Project
The iPads I'm requesting will be used to supplement the few I've purchased already. Students have quickly familiarized themselves with many free educational apps, such as Educreations to quickly summarize and convey their understandings of concepts or plans for experiments. Students will also use Video Physics to outline the path of projectiles and general motion to quantify and describe basic concepts.
Students also use iPads to access our resource sites (Schoology and Google docs). Students have begun working to create stop motion videos for certain presentations, and will record and narrate their experiments and analysis.
The physics texts and materials are to help me continue to plan physics activities that relate directly to everyday life. For students struggling to have faith in their learning and understanding, engagement with relatable activities and concepts is paramount.
The launchers are for capstone projects applying physics understandings toward the end of the year.
As a teacher in a large urban setting, building confidence and competence in our students and better preparing them for college provides inestimable benefits to them, their families, their communities, and the world at large.
Many of my students have the potential to become impressive members of professional communities, and despite my personal interest in the medical field, I appreciate my ability to prepare and encourage students to pursue ANY path they are willing to work for.
