My Project

Creating a safe environment as a whole and a calming space in educational settings is crucial for supporting students' social and emotional learning (SEL) needs. Students often face various stressors throughout their academic journey, ranging from academic pressures to personal challenges.

Having a designated space where students can retreat, regroup, and recharge emotionally not only fosters a sense of safety but also teaches valuable self-regulation skills.

A calming space equipped with breathing techniques, calming timers, tactile items, literature, and visuals; provides a sanctuary where students can practice mindfulness, manage their emotions, and develop resilience. This intentional space encourages reflection and helps students build the emotional intelligence necessary for navigating both school and life challenges effectively.
