My Students

I am looking for help to support my seventh, eighth, and ninth-grade special education students with moderate disabilities.

The students in my classroom are students with language processing and academic learning disabilities.

They struggle to read and understand what they are reading. They also struggle with the desire to try new material because of the failed attempts to understand and learn.

My Project

Is for students who have reading and writing disabilities; who struggle to effectively get their thoughts down on paper and independently read and understand what they have been assigned to read in their classes.

With this funding, my students will have access to programs that will help them improve their scores without disturbing the rest of their class.

They will be able to access speech-to-text resources to help them put their thoughts down on paper without having to stop in the middle of the thought process to ask how to spell a word. They will also be able to access read-aloud applications for their coursework so their reading disabilities do not affect access and understanding of the material being taught.
