Help me give my students robot hand- claw grabbers to reduce pollution, and learn how to become an active contributor to protecting our our environment.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is located in a highly urban area and many of our students do not have sufficient opportunities to engage in activities surrounded by nature on a regular basis. Fortunately, our school campus provides this space for them to explore, learn, enjoy, and care for the natural resources we have right here in the city. I would love to give these pre-kindergarten students the opportunity to spend more time outdoors learning ways they can care for the environment and actions they can take to have a positive impact on our planet.
A better environmental future requires better environmental awareness for future generations.
In other words, we need to engage children in taking action to care for our planet, and helping the planet can start right here at our school.
Your donation to this project will provide the student with an opportunity to get outside and learn about environmental responsibility. Each student will get a pair of robot claw grabbers., and then they will take regular scheduled outings to scour the campus for trash. Using the grabbers students will collect rubbish the and then learn to sort the collection into piles of waste and recyclable materials. Not only will student have the opportunity to get outside of the classroom for learning, but they will also be making a habit of regularly looking for litter, and classifying it as rubbish or recyclables. At this young age this activity will help them become more environmentally aware and habitually in tune to their responsibility to help care for their environment.
