This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, creative, and resilient learners who face unique challenges every day. Many of them have difficulties to manage big emotions, sensory sensitivities, or unexpected changes in routine. What makes them special is their determination to learn and grow, even when the world around them can sometimes seem overwhelming.

This project is about creating a Calm Corner in our classroom.

It's a safe, supportive space where students can practice self-regulation, calm their bodies, and refocus on learning. My goal is to give them the tools and environment they need to handle frustration in positive ways, so they can return to class ready to succeed both academically and emotionally.

Each item I’m requesting has a specific purpose:

- Bean bag chairs will provide a cozy and comfortable place to relax.

- Noise-canceling headphones will reduce distractions and help students who are sensitive to sound.

-Sensory fidgets will give students a safe outlet for stress and a way to stay grounded.

With your help, this Calm Corner will become more than just a space. It will be a lifeline for my students when they need it most. By supporting this project, you’ll be helping extraordinary students build independence, develop emotional resilience, and thrive in school and beyond.
