This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in one of the poorest congressional districts in the United States of America. Majority of them depend on free meals and learning materials at schools. They are thankful for everything that they receive.
The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted their learning and school life significantly.
Students and teachers have fewer resources available to them. Now more than ever, students need all the help that they can get, while learning remotely from home. I miss the day to day interactions with all of the students that I have worked with for so many years.
My Project
During distance learning, students are not able to have access to the resources that they would normally have at school. Therefore, I am requesting educational resources and snacks for students while they are home learning.
My students need the materials to help them learn.
The workbooks will help students to practice their ELA and math skills. Students having snacks available to them at home will influence their learning. Remember, we pay more attention to how hungry we are, and not about the lesson we are learning.
As a school community, we appreciate all the help that we can get.
