Helping Special Needs Students with Sensory Processing
My students need these special lens overlays due to their special needs. These materials will help with vision & light sensitivity to improve reading & functional skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Zachry's classroom raised $454

My Students
Visual sensitivity & visual processing problems impact a child's ability to participate and learn in the school environment. The products requested for my classroom will help with perception, light sensitivity & sensory overload by filtering the frequencies of light to which the child is sensitive.
The students that I work with have a variety of special needs, including autism, learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, cerebral palsy, auditory/visual processing challenges, and Down Syndrome.
They work hard and always put forth their best effort, but that's not always enough to successfully master certain skills. Special techniques and approaches are sometimes necessary.
My Project
When a child suffers with perceptual problems, light sensitivity, and sensory overload, this makes learning difficult. These special lens overlays help with vision and light sensitivity to improve reading and functional skills for students with special needs. The lenses filter the frequencies of light to which the individual is sensitive. This allows the brain to process visual information normally.
These special students deserve to have every opportunity possible that will make learning less challenging on a day-to-day basis.
Skills that are simple for others can be insurmountable to these special children. Please donate to this project so that these students have more tools to make learning less challenging.
