Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Project
I’m lucky to work with an incredible group of second grade students. They are curious, thoughtful, and eager to learn about the world around them. I see every day how movement and structure can make a difference in my students’ focus, confidence, and emotional well-being.
I’m requesting a class set of child friendly analog watches to help my students build a stronger sense of time, responsibility, and independence.
In today’s world of digital clocks and screens, many students are missing out on understanding how time works using traditional analog clocks. Our curriculum includes learning to tell time to the nearest five minutes, understanding a.m. and p.m., and developing a sense of elapsed time. However, without regular hands-on practice, many students struggle to master these concepts. Having access to personal analog watches will give students the opportunity to explore time in a concrete, interactive, and consistent way—both in and out of the classroom.
A class set of watches might seem like a small thing, but in my classroom, they will make a big impact.
